EGYPT AND NUBIA TOUR AND CRUISE ITINERARY
DAY 1 – Friday, July 13, 2012
Afternoon arrival at the Cairo International Airport with a shuttle transfer to our five star to our 5 star hotel. Group orientation followed by dinner and relaxation.
DAY 2 – Saturday, July 14, 2012
Dr. Rashidi’s first lecture and then a full day on the Giza Plateau visiting the exciting Giza Pyramids, Herumakhet (the Great Sphinx) and the Pyramid Ship. Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in our hotel.
DAY 3 – Sunday, July 15, 2012
Dr. Rashidi’s second lecture. After breakfast transfer to the pyramid fields and tombs of Sakkara, Egypt. Visit the Step Pyramid designed by multi-genius Imhotep, Zoser’s Pyramid Enclosure, King Teti’s pyramid chamber, the Tomb of Ptah Hotep or a comparable tomb. Transfer to the ancient city of Memphis and see the enormous statues of Ramses the Great. Enjoy lunch in Sakkara and then visit a carpet school.
DAY 4 – Monday. July 16, 2012
Morning lecture by Dr. Rashidi then transfer to the fabulousEgyptianMuseum. After leaving theEgyptianMuseum, visit the perfume bazaar and then lunch. Take the overnight train toLuxor.
DAY 5 – Tuesday, July 17, 2012
Early morning arrival in Luxor, in Upper Egypt, then transfer to our five star hotel. See the Valley the Queens, the tomb of Karakamun, the Medinet Habu mortuary temple complex. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Luxor.
Day 6 – Wednesday, July 18, 2012
Full day drive through the Egyptian countryside to visit the exquisite temples of Hathor at Dendera, and Seti I and Ramses II at Abydos. Dinner and overnight in hotel in Luxor.
Day 7 – Thursday, July 19, 2012
Morning lecture by Dr. Rashidi then check into our cruise ship for three exciting days and nights on theNile! All meals served on board ship. Proceed to the east bank of the Nile for a never to be forgotten tour of theLuxor and Karnak temples, and theLuxorMuseum. Overnight aboard cruise ship.
Day 8 – Friday, July 20, 2012
Breakfast aboard cruise ship then visit the temple of Horus at Edfu and sail to Kom Ombo. Lunch during cruise and then visit the Kom Ombo temple before sailing to Aswan. Overnight and dinner aboard cruise ship.
Day 9 – Saturday, July 21, 2012
Breakfast, lecture by Dr. Rashidi. After breakfast, check out of our cruise ship, check into our five star hotel in Aswan. Enjoy a falucca ride, lunch at a Nubian restaurant and visit a Nubian village. Evening visit to the Nubian Museum. Overnight at our hotel.
Day 10 – Sunday – July 22, 2012
Early morning bus ride south to the stupendous temples at Abu Simbel. Balance of the day at leisure. Overnight at our hotel.
Day 11 – Monday – July 23, 2012
Entire day at leisure in Aswan, Nubia
Day 12 – Tuesday, July 24, 2012
Visit the magnificent temples onPhilaeIsland, the High Dam and Granite Quarry. Train ride back toCairo.
Day 13 – Wednesday, July 25, 2012
Early morning arrival at Cairo rail station. Return to Giza to our five star hotel. Evening farewell dinner
Day 14 – Thursday, July 26, 2012
Early morning transfer to airport and departure to JFK. End of a joyous trip!
Are there any tours that are less than 14 days? How often do you have tours to Egypt?
